After weeks of waiting, the day finally arrived. Every year I look forward to this Festival, and this year was a bit special for me, as this year, I have started a blog account, and wanted to publish this event on it.
Spread over 2 days, it's an occasion, when the whole village comes together to support the Festival, and it's just great.

Obviously with scarecrows in the title, I expected to see a few, and I was really impressed by the standards. I didn't get to see all of them but the few I did see, were worthy of a prize of some sort.
From nursery rhymes to politics, the selection was vast, and the efforts of all were plain to see.

Next it was time for a pint,

and while we were sat outside, a gypsy barrel wagon went by.

A few more scarecrows were on the way to the owls.

Seeing as I am a huge fan of owls, I couldn't walk by without stopping to stroke a few. They are so beautiful, and I love taking shots of them whenever I can.

Well, after my bird fix, it was time to listen to some music. On the way to the field, there were a few people busking.

So, it was time for some music, and the line up looked great.
Courthouse were first up, and it was really refreshing hearing some good music and brilliant vocals.

Charlie Mucklow was next and I had never seen her before. What a talent. Good voice with some great tones, and ably backed up with good guitar work and some really good lyrics.

After a break, I went back to the music and Rollin' Stock were on stage. Great to hear some Country music, and then finishing off with some Dire Straits. Great set and people were beginning to wake up now.

Well it was just as well that people were waking up, as the next act was Tan.Trum. I hadn't seen them before, but I had definitely heard about them. I was curious, as I love rock and heavy metal, and was wondering what their influences would be. I can say, they are a unique band of young kids, with a mountain of talent waiting to be tapped!!!! Great guitar work by Ellis and GG, and Louis was phenomenal on the skins. Phoebe has a great voice, and her personality began to show as the set went on. I think, that they definitely have a strong future, and with support and good guidance they will be a success. Great set guys!!!

Spitfire were on next and they certainly had a hard act to follow, but Colin's an old hand at this, and he soon had everyones' attention. They kept the tempo going strong and soon had everyone tapping their feet and some were dancing too.

Bass guitarist Ken was sporting a very fashionable pair of shorts. I can say no more.

Batty bat made an appearance, and he found a relative in the audience!!!

After that, it was flat out rocking to the end. Great gig guys

After a little break (more beer) it was Chasing Deer. Don't let the name deceive you, these guys are good and the vocalist has a very powerful voice.

I thought they were excellent, with a very polished sound, and their own songs were great too. I prefer rock and metal myself, but I could easily sit and listen to these guys for hours. Sadly, I had to leave after their set, but please enjoy the photos.

So, the next day was not so good for me, as I couldn't get to the festival until later in the day. I was just in time for the Sophia Vassalos Band however, so fired off some shots.

I took a break after this set, and had a wander around, and was taking shots of scarecrows when I came across these guys,

When I got back to the music, Dead Frequency were setting up. I had spefically come along Sunday afternoon to see these guys, and I was really looking forward to their set.

It was a great start, and the audience were really up for some rock. Despite a slight glitch, Matti calmly sorted it out, and then they were up and running. No looking back and it was full steam ahead with hit after hit.

By now the whole crowd were enjoying the music. Even my dog tried to join in at one point by howling to Let's Go. The performance just got better and better and it was a joy to take photos of these guys. Just hope they like them.

At this point the Sealed Knot decided to gatecrash the party, and Matty was only too happy to make the most of the moment,

Into the final part of a brilliant performance, and I was really enjoying the show. Pity it had to come to an end, but I really want to see this band again

Unfortunately I had to leave after that amazing performance. So it's back to the computer to process about 400 photos.
Already, I am looking forward to next year. So it is bye for now.
Thanks for reading my blog
